Statistics vary regarding just how many million wood pallets now reside in landfills. Some estimates claim that as many as 200 million wood pallets are thrown into U.S. landfill facilities every year. Of those that find their way to the dump, over half were used only once before they were discarded. If ever there was a poster child for conspicuous waste, the wood pallet is it. We are doing our part by making adirondack chairs. Each adirondack we build keeps 3-4 pallets out of our countries landfills. To take it a bit farther, we are using/giving away all scraps to be used as firewood, recycling all the nails/screws, and even turning the sawdust into little fire starters!
